Double Seed Stitch
Also known as Irish Moss Stitch, the double seed stitch is simple knit-purl pattern that adds tons of texture (without upping the skill level).
This stitch lays flat. It doesn’t curl vertically or horizontally, making it a great border or standalone stitch.
Pros of Double Seed:
- Lays flat
- Reversible
- Adds a subtle texture to your knitting projects
Cons of Double Seed:
- Relatively slow to knit (similar to ribbing)
- Beginners may struggle to differentiate between the knit and purl stitches
